House of Gordon USA honors our Scottish and American Heritage, Service to Country, the Celtic Arts and above all Family! Come Join Us and the Gordon Tent!
House of Gordon USA
Welcome to the
House of Gordon USA!

We are the families of the Scottish Clan Gordon in the United States of America. Our mission is to preserve
and promote our unique heritage and Celtic culture, as we enjoy the fellowship and support of family and
friends. Come Join Us at the Gordon Tent!

The Gordon name is synonymous with the rich history of Scotland and dates back to the 11th Century. It is a
name to be proud of and deserves your interest and support. The Board of Directors of House of Gordon
USA invites you to join our Clan Society.

WHAT WE DO

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to create, stimulate and sustain an interest in
Scotland, its history, traditions and culture; to bring together people of Gordon heritage; to
promote goodwill and understanding among its members and the general public; and to perform
charitable works.
The “Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship Fund” provides scholarships to aid our
youth in further studies of the Scottish arts and education. Our Scotland charity is the Gordon Highlander
Museum in Aberdeen, Scotland which tells the history of "the finest regiment that ever was." We honor the
men and women of Clan Gordon who are serving or have served in the defence of our nation with the Wall
Of Honor. We promote genealogical research, and the Gordon DNA project, host tents at various Celtic
Festivals & Highland Games across the USA and many other worthy projects which encompass our Clan
Gordon history and cultural heritage as well as providing community service.

NEWS

HOUSE OF GORDON USA 2010 AGM @ GRANDFATHER!

The House of Gordon USA 2010 Annual General Membership Meeting will be held at Grandfather
Mountain Highland Games on Saturday July 10th at 3 PM at the Gordon camp on the mountain to
be followed by the AGM Picnic at 5PM.
All members are welcome at the AGM and the picnic will be
$10.00 each as in past years. We will be cooking pork loin, smoked beef, BBQ, sweet potato fries
and various sides!  THIS IS NO ORDINARY PICNIC - IT IS THE GORDON GRILL FULL BLOWN!
Come
join us at the Gordon Tent July 8-11 for a GREAT time full of fun, fellowship and Celtic madness on the
mountain! This is an exciting time for the House and we have a lot to discuss as we move ahead to build the
House. We hope to see you there!
We are pleased to announce that through our scholarship
program, we have become the sponsor for the Grade 4 Junior Piper of the Day at Grandfather.
As
many of you know Charles O. Gordon was not only our founding president, he was a founding member and
past president of the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. We felt that it was a perfect fit for us to
sponsor a scholarship for one week's tuition at the piping school of the recipient's choice as the Grade 4
Junior Piper of the Day Award.

FAREWELL AND OOH RAH AARON TODD! Virginia said farewell to their piper at the Potomac Highland
Games as Aaron left June 28th for Parris Island and the USMC. We will have cards for all to sign at the AGM
on Grandfather Mountain
to send Aaron at Boot Camp as encouragement. Please stop by the tent and
sign a card. Then get your picture taken or make a short video thanking our troops as part of our
Operation Thank you! The video will be edited into a montage and uploaded to YouTube!

GORDON 2010 TOUR INFORMATION:  download the itinerary and form!

The Tour we have all been anticipating is just a few months away!  In order to make it as
successful as our Y2K and 2005 Tours, we must begin signing in immediately with our deposits
demonstrating our true intentions to travel.
Our Travel Agent Kate Graham has worked hard to
arrange a combined tour of Scotland and Ireland that will intrigue everyone no matter how much touring has
been done in the past.

Beginning with a great four day overview of Northern Ireland and then ferrying to mainland Scotland the
morning of Day 5, we will explore the places of myth and legend -- whether of your experience or a long
hoped-for visit -- and culminating with a great tour of magical Edinburgh, its Castle and Royal Mile.  Many
Gordon-specific stops and many more sights cherished by the most discerning travelers.

You can study the Tour stops and add a few of your own BUT...the message here is:  SECURE YOUR
PLACE WITH THE TOUR AND SEND IN YOUR DEPOSIT TODAY!  KATE CANNOT HOLD HOTEL
RESERVATIONS BEYOND THE END OF JANUARY!  Don't miss a chance of a lifetime.  Ask those who have
traveled with us before -- we ALWAYS have a great time and come away with a new appreciation of our
ancient and wonderful homeland and her people!
